A Little Site Update

It would be a bit of an understatement to say the past few months have been very stressful. I’ve let plenty of things slide that I wish I hadn’t and one of them has been a bit of a site clean up. I’ve done a couple of updates but there was some stuff hanging around that I really wanted to fix up, and today I did.

The first thing you may notice is I’ve adjusted the background color to a darker blue and adjusted the orange to have better contrast. This sits in a bit of a weird place between dark mode and light mode but I like the color scheme. At some point in the future I’d like to create some theming so a user could have a dark mode, light mode, the default, and maybe a bonus mode.

The next thing that was fixed up was some of the iconography. The pagination icons were not looking very good so those have been cleaned up. I went with an emoji in the search bar which is a different look than the pagination arrows but it felt like a fun little change so I think I’ll keep it.

The last adjustment I made was I added view-transitions in. This is only supported in Chrome and Edge, but it’s a wonderful tool in the sense that if you don’t view the site in one of those browsers, that’s ok, because it’ll work like a normal web page. I’m hopeful to see this added to other browsers soon because it’s super cool, even in it’s default state. I’ll probably tweak this a bit over time as well but I wanted to get the basic spec in because I think it’s neat.

These are all fairly small updates but wanted to make sure they got done and I talked about them a little.
