What I Did Over Break
I had some time off over the holidays. Kind of a long stretch, well long for me. I keep the majority of my time off usage to 3 or 4 day weekends so having December 23 through January 1 off, 12 days if we include weekends, is a good chunk of time.
At the beginning of it, I wasn’t sure how much side work I really wanted to do. I kind of adopted a “let’s just see where the inspiration goes” and that ended up being a very good path.
Some stuff I made
Xbox Trivia Quiz: I made this to test my friends on their Xbox knowledge.
New Years Day Check: This was a little challenge in the Cassidy Williams Newsletter. I don’t always do these but this one was kinda fun given its timeliness.
Share to Bluesky: Button that allows you to share content directly to Blue Sky, if you have the right OpenGraph tags set up.
Crucible Dashboard: I started working on this a bit before break but it wasn’t built out very well. It’s a simple dashboard to track my recent performance in the Crucible in Destiny 2.
Some other site updates
Some of the smaller stuff, I updated the site for my fraternity alumni association, fixed a few bugs on XG-Destiny-Checklist.com, and did a refresh on backend with node. Oh super small one but I’ve been using the GitHub Desktop app for years and decided it was time to learn some of the command line tooling, so my first commits of 2025 are using the command line. Woo!
So that ended up being a lot of stuff. I’m pretty refreshed by it to say the least. It’s a reminder that I love doing this work and the stressful pieces like deadlines, fitting items into a day, etc. are the stressful pieces. Actually making things, is the best part.
